Designer Mat International got its start more than 40 years in the Los Angeles area. In the late 1980's the company was purchased by its current owner and morphed into the automotive products supplier we know today as IntroTech. In 2015, DMI acquired most of the car mats business from IntroTech and went its own way. The current product line includes 9 different and unique styles of car floor mats you won't find from any other single car mat manufacturer. Rhino Auto Mat

Coco Auto Mat

The Coco Auto Mat from DMI is a reincarnation of the coco fiber mat that was very popular in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's, especially among the major European car manufacturers like Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW, Porsche, MG and Triumph. The coco mat added an exotic air to most any vehicle and was easy to clean - you just carefully removed it from your vehicle and beat it on the nearest tree. It hid dirt well and could be dyed into almost any desired color. So DMI makes the modern version of the coco mat with coco fiber sourced from India. A rubber nib backing is added to prevent the mats from slipping and a vinyl heel pad is sewn on to the drivers side mat to prevent mat wear and to additionally protect the heel of your shoe from the abrasive nature of these mats.

Designer Mat International uses carpeting made from natural sisal imported from Brazil in its Sisal Auto Mat product. Sisal is a natural, fibrous and stringy material extracted from the agave sisalana cactus. The fibrous extract gets spun into yarn and magically sisal carpet appears!
