SpaceKap Truck Caps

SpaceKap Truck Caps were introduced to the North American marketplace in 1992 by Fibrobec, a Company located in Quebec, Canada. 

The basic idea was to create a "slip-in" transferrable service body that would fit in a bunch of different pickups and survive to fit in succeeding generations of pickups. For example, if your 1995 Ford F-150 finally went kaput, you could forklift the SpaceKap out of the old F-150 and into a brand new F-150 without removing all your tools or other contents. How nice would that be? Well, that's exactly what you get with a SpaceKap Truck Cap.

The SpaceKap is a fiberglass truck cap designed to serve the needs of law enforcement, delivery services, general contractors, electricians, plumbers and others in the service industries. It's more fuel efficient in combination with a pickup than a cargo van and comes with a very functional array of optional accessories like shelving systems, sliding trays and rack systems.

SpaceKap Truck Caps - Models

The Compak Model is designed for use in height restricted areas like parking garages. It's streamlined design lets you get around in tight spots you'd experience in big crowded cities. Full length side doors and an optional sliding tray give you incredible accessibility to the interior of the truck cap. You get 44" of headroom in a truck cap that weighs between 560 to 650 pounds depending on whether you purchase the 6' or 8' model.

The Diablo Model has 75" of interior headroom. Heck, you can jump up and down for joy in this truck cap! With 372 cubic feet of interior space you have plenty of room for tools, packages, equipment or whatever else you carry around in your pickup. Skylight windows and an LED light bar are added amenities. Side doors are optional but if you don't need the extra access, SpaceKap will install a really nice window for you that brings natural light into the interior. This model weighs between 725 to 825 pounds based on length 8'/6'.

The SpaceKap Wild was designed to compete with the standard cargo van. It's got full length side doors and optional sliding trays like the Compak does but has an interior height of 53" which gives you the ability to move around inside the truck cap. This model weighs in between 535 to 625 pounds depending on whether you purchase the 6' or 8' model.

The Rapid Intervention Unit (RIU) is designed for use by Emergency Services and Supporting Government Agencies. It's a self contained transferrable service body, like the other SpaceKap models and is designed to deal with 90% of common emergency services needs. Typical environments include fire, police, military, rescue and health services. If you have a specialized need call SpaceKap - they can most likely help you fill the need.

SpaceKap Truck Caps - Applications

From its original design the SpacKap was designed to fit most full size pickups with 6.5' or 8' beds. This includes the Ford F-150/250/350, the GMC Sierra, the Chevy Silverado, The Dodge Ram and the Toyota Tundra(from 2007 on).
